Founder and Head Coach
Baseball and softball performance coach. Edwin has spent over a decade developing players at every level - from youth and travel ball to the international and professional stage - and is now bringing that same system fully online.
I didn't start out thinking I was going to become a coach. I was just a kid who loved the game, playing through the youth leagues and high school ball that got baseball into my system in the first place.
That foundation carried me into college baseball, and that is where everything changed. The speed, the competition, the demands, it all raises the bar. You either grow into it or you get left behind. I grew into it, and what I learned competing at that level became the foundation of how I coach today.
One of the experiences I'll always be proud of is representing the Philippines in the World Baseball Classic. Earning a spot on that roster, alongside professional talent from around the world, isn't something many coaches in the youth and travel sports world get to say.
Competing at that level taught me what real pressure looks like. Every detail of preparation, execution, and mental toughness gets magnified when the stakes are that high. I carry that understanding into how I get athletes ready for their own high stakes moments, whether that's a tryout, a big game, or just their next rep.
Working inside the Washington Nationals organization gave me a completely different look at player development. Every drill, every evaluation, every decision is held to a standard most youth coaches never get to see up close.
I learned that development is intentional. Nothing happens by accident inside a professional organization. Every rep has a purpose, every evaluation feeds into a plan, and the details that get overlooked everywhere else are the details that get the most attention there. That's the standard I brought back with me, and it's the standard I build every program at Empire around.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with Major League players, and those experiences taught me a lot about coaching.
Professional athletes don't waste time. They have options, and they know exactly what does and doesn't help them improve. Working with them taught me how to communicate clearly, cut out anything that doesn't move the needle, and focus on what actually helps a player get better. The same approach I used with those players is the approach I want to give every athlete who comes through Empire.
Edwin tells athletes the truth about their mechanics, their effort, and their development, not what they want to hear. That honesty is what actually moves the needle.
One great session changes nothing. Real development comes from showing up every week with the same standard, the same attention, and the same commitment to improvement.
Generic programs produce generic results. Every athlete Edwin coaches gets a system built around their sport, their position, and their specific development needs.
Athletes do not improve by guessing. They improve when someone shows them exactly what to fix, every single time, without exception.
